Museum is keen to ensure that adults are able to learn about the
archaeology, history and environment of Argyll. We have a full and fun
programme catering for grown ups.
This includes guided walks led by our
curator and other associated archaeologists to local sites as well as a
range of other events linked to national initiatives such as National
Poetry Day, Scottish Archaeology month, Highland Archaeology Week and
the Big Draw.
We run a range of special workshops and courses which have included:
- Basket Making with local basket makers Pip Weaser and Jane Allan
- Prehistoric Technology
with renowned flint knapper John Lord
- Permaculture
- Feltmaking
- Various art workshops including charcoals, oils, and encaustics
- Boat Building
- Dry Stayne Dyking
- Green wood working
- Hazel Hurdle making
- Maori Weaving and Dyeing demonstrations and workshops with renowned
artist and lecturer

Our courses run throughout the year - come along - learn a new skill and
make some new friends!
Outreach
Kilmartin House Museum staff regularly give expert talks to students and
societies on a variety of subjects including archaeology, history,
geology, museum studies and heritage management. From time to time the
curator also gives guided walks around the monuments, or can arrange for
