Your visit to
Kilmartin House Museum starts off with an intense audio-visual
experience.
Lasting 15 minutes, the presentation is designed to give
you a feeling for the power and beauty of the landscape of Mid Argyll
and the layers of history and the memories that lie within it...
... You can then visit our permanent award winning exhibition, which along with
extensive interpretive material contains ancient artefacts from our own
collection as well as local archaeological objects on loan from other
Museums. You can also try out a range of hands-on activities –
including our popular quern stones and stone axe polisher! To find
out more about the Museum and its artefacts collections take a look at
the Museum Resources Pages.
Equipped with an understanding of the generations of people who have
shaped this land over the last 8,000 years, you can go out into the
landscape and explore some of the sites and monuments they left behind.
To find out more click on our archaeology link or browse the interactive
map.
