The Museum’s mission statement is:
-
 to raise awareness of the ecological richness and
archaeological importance of the surrounding landscape, and so to
encourage its conservation and wise management

to provide a place where local knowledge and locally found
archaeological artefacts can be collected, preserved, interpreted and
displayed – giving the local community
focus from which to gain a sense of continuity, place and identity
-
to orientate and inform visitors to Kilmartin Glen, in order to enhance
their enjoyment and control their impact
-
to foster in children an interest in, and a sense of responsibility
towards the local environment
-
to carry out and support research into the archaeology and
environmental history of the area and to ensure public dissemination of
the results.
