At a recent meeting, the group decided on the above name. The main focus will be Kilmartin and Glassary graveyards, and the Kilmichael Cross, which is in need of conservation.

The provisional aims of the group are to:

• clean up the graveyards and make them pleasant places to visit

• conserve and improve access to the ancient stones

• provide a comprehensive list of the stones and their inscriptions

• provide on and off site information

• source funding

• engage with the community and elicit community participation

• explore possibilities for the conservation of the Kilmichael Cross

The group will be working closely with Argyll & Bute Council, Historic Scotland, the Church of Scotland, St Columba’s Episcopal Church, the Dunadd Community Council, the Kilmartin Village Initiative and the Museum.

More information will be added to this web site soon. The database is under construction here.
