The Moine Mhor raised mire, 3 miles from Kilmartin, is a National Nature Reserve and the immediate coastline and estuary is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Both are incorporated in the Knapdale National Scenic Area which begins 1 mile from Kilmartin House.
