Description

This site consists of two cairns , the largest is 11.5m across and 1.5m high and contains a probable cist cover slab, with cupmarks in the centre. The other cairn is 6.6m in diameter and 0.8m high and lies 3m away.

Both of the two cairns at Glennan have been disturbed, but in the northern one there is a large slab bearing at least 9 carved cup marks. The slab may have been the covering of a cist. Neither cairn has been officially excavated.

This site has no protection and is situated to a cattle feeding point and is therefore often surrounded by a muddy moat. The cairn is presently covered with grass and reeds.
