This cairn lies 150m away from Nether Largie Mid cairn and 500m from Kilmartin Glebe cairn. It contains a central cist, the inner face of the north end slab of which is decorated with axeheads and the underside of the capstone of which is also decorated with cupmarks and axeheads. A constituent part of the extended monument of the linear cemetery. This shows a rebuild of the cairn; the original material was removed after excavation in 1930. On the top can be seen the modern hatch through which one can enter a modern chamber which protects the axe-marked cist slab. The circular boundary and pathway are modern.

The cairn was excavated in 1930, and entirely removed. Its present appearance is thus the result of subsequent reinstatement. It originally measured about 20m in diameter and the cist was set into a pit with the cover slab about 15cm underground and the capstone protected by flat slabs lying on top. A second grave - an oval pit - was found near the cist.
