Description |
|
These
are 2 of the 7 medieval stones, located outside in a small open
enclosure within the graveyard. Shown here is an effigy and a tapered
slab with a sword, both products of the 14-15th century Loch Awe school.
The effigy shows an early type of light armour with a quilted coat or
aketon. |
|
It is
thought that both of these stones were probably brought in from their
original site when they were appropriated by the Poltalloch estate 2 or
3 centuries after they were first carved. |
