Description |

This
is a close-up view of one of the large upright slabs, focusing on the
little figure. This design style is typical of the west highland carving
of this date and similar carvings can be found on Iona, Oronsay, Keills
and Kilmory. This is one of many stones located in the mausoleum within
the graveyard of Kilmartin Church for which there is free access every
day. |

This is
one of 11 slabs showing an armed figure in a niche with decoration of
intertwined plant stems, leaves and animals. It is a product of the
14-15th century Loch Awe school. |
