Description |

This
cross, of local epidiorite, was moved here from Barnakill (NR821915) in
1928. It has a deeply grooved cross and a Latin inscription with damaged
first letter. The script is half-uncial. Several readings have been
offered including [X]RI RE[?I]TON meaning "(In the name) of Christ.
Re[i]ton". |

Although
this is still an active Episcopalian church, it is on private ground and
permission should be sought. |
