carvings which includes: one cup with two rings; five cups with single
rings; one dumb-bell; and six plain cups. |
|
Group Two (NM 865038) |

This
outcrop lies about 45m WNW of Group One and immediately N of the highest
point of the track; on it upper surface there are two plain cupmarks. |
|
Group Three (NM 865039) |
|
There
is a prostrate slab which bears a faint cup-and-ring mark on its SW end. |
|
Group Four (NM 864039) |

This
decorated boulder is known locally as the Dun Dubh Boulder, measures
2.4m by 1.1m and has at least eight plain cups and two dumb-bells on its
upper surface. |
|
Group Five (NM 864037) |
|
There

1.0m), which lies on the W flank of a rocky knoll situated to the S of
the track. |
|
Group Six (NM 867038) |
|
This
cup and ring marked outcrop is situated in a forestry plantation. The
decoration extends over a length of 17.6m and includes cups and
cups-and-rings. |
|
Other
Bronze Age activity in the area is indicated by the discovery of a
polished stone cup at a point about 60m SE of Group 3; the vessel,
decorated with two incised zigzag lines is now in Glasgow Art Gallery
