Description
This is one of two groups of prehistoric carvings on a hill above Cairnbaan. There are several contiguous motifs with cups and multiple rings as well as irregular stretches of grooving and a figure resembling a star.
This view looking SE towards Lochgilphead, shows this small expanse of bedrock with a selection of cup and ring carvings. An exact cast of these carvings is on display at Kilmartin House museum.
Access / Ownership
These carvings are cared for by Historic Scotland, free access via path leading up from right hand side of the Cairnbaan Hotel.
