Over the past 15 months Andrew Pinkerton has been working with Kilmartin Museum Redevelopment Project to assist in managing the architects and other consultants producing the designs for the new Museum. A qualified architect, Andrew was for many years a Director of one of Scotland’s largest architectural practices, but more recently the focus of his activities has been on community regeneration where he has assisted various groups to develop lottery funded projects. He knows Argyll well, having frequently holidayed in the area, and for a time during 2013 – 2015 he lived on the Isle of Luing, where he had a lead role in delivering the new build Atlantic Islands Centre on behalf of the local Community Trust. Andrew is also working with Oban Communities Trust on the development of the Rockfield Centre.
For Kilmartin, the current focus of Andrew’s work is ensuring that the developing designs for the buildings continue to meet the Museum’s brief, remain affordable and are at a level of detail that satisfies funders’ requirements. Andrew will be on hand to answer questions about the project at the drop-in event in October when the latest designs will be on show.
