Redevelopment Update for June

June was a busy month for the Museum’s Redevelopment Project! The team have been applying to trusts and foundations to try and raise some of the £1.5million required, and we are eagerly awaiting responses.  Fundraising events are being organised as well, so keep an eye on the website to find out more.  The 20/20 Art Exhibition launched on July 1st, with proceeds going toward the redevelopment.  These wonderful artworks will be on display in the café until the end of August so make sure you come down and see if there are any that take your fancy.

The design team for the new Museum have been hard at work, with updated designs from the architects and first drafts from the exhibition designers and natural history consultants starting to paint an amazing picture of what the building and the experience will look and feel like, both inside and out.  There’s still some work to be done but we hope to be able to share some of designs with you soon, so watch this space.

The car park consultation on June 8th was very informative, with plenty of people from the community letting us know their thoughts about the proposals.  A full report can be found here.

Remember, you too can let us know your thoughts about the Redevelopment Project and help us shape the future of Kilmartin Museum by completing this survey or by contacting us at redevelopment@kilmartin.org.
