Carnasserie Castle
Join our Museum Director’s tour of Carnasserie Castle!
The tour starts at Carnasserie Castle Carpark at 1pm to 3.15 pm
Explore one of the finest examples of 16th Century architecture in Argyll. Learn about Carnasserie’s construction, its role in Argyll’s Rebellion, its eventual destruction and its significance in the modern day.
The route involves a walk up a steep hill, and along an unsurfaced track, with steps to the castle itself (and inside too), so strong footwear is recommended and it is not accessible with a wheelchair. We also recommend that you take waterproofs just in case (well, it is Argyll!). Our staff are first aid trained, but please ensure that you take with you any essential medication.
There are no toilet facilities at Carnasserie Castle Car Park. The nearest are at Kilmartin Museum itself, or the public toilets by the bus stop at Kilmartin across from the museum.
We are sorry, but the only dogs which are allowed on our Guided Walks are guide dogs.
Suitable for age 16+, and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
The walk is free, but as we are a charity, if you would like to donate, please follow this link - Donate — Kilmartin Museum
Places are limited to 12 participants and booking essential- click below
