Kilmartin Glen is one of the world’s most significant archaeological landscapes. Sites including Stone Circles, Standing Stones and Rock Art abound. There are thousands of years of history and natural history to explore in this beautiful landscape.
For 20 years, Kilmartin Museum has been discovering, caring for and sharing stories of artefacts from this special place. Visit Kilmartin Museum and Kilmartin Glen and join us on a journey through 6,000 years of history.
Kilmartin Museum Closure
We’re sorry that due to the ongoing restrictions put in place to limit the spread of Covid-19, the Museum and café are closed to visitors until further notice.
A small number of staff are still working and can be contacted by email. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for further updates.
We are currently not able to deliver any volunteer-led guided Glen walks or education service visits to schools and community groups.
Learning at Home
Learning at home can be fun and we have a great learning project ‘Living in ancient Scotland’ which is specifically aimed at children of primary school age. Helping to build their knowledge and understanding of the ancient past, the project has lots of activities for children to complete and a story to inspire. So, make your way to the ‘Learning’ section and you will find the ‘Learning at home’ page.
Don’t forget to share your activity results and creations.
The team at Kilmartin Museum has been working and meeting remotely as have the professionals involved in the current stage of the Redevelopment process. We are fortunate to be able to keep the project going forward at this time and look forward to updating everyone when we reach our next milestone and have the final new museum plans to share. Please see the Latest News page for updates.
