Primary

Our Primary Schools programme offers active, creative and interdisciplinary learning for Early, First and Second level pupils.

Our cultural programme ranges from prehistory through to the Highland Clearances, and our natural history programme interprets the National Nature Reserves at Mòine Mhór and Taynish and Forestry Commission sites.

We provide interactive activities across a broad range of curriculum areas, to enable a greater understanding of Argyll’s place within the wider world. Activities include artefact handling, costumes, crafts and traditional skills such as pottery. We also offer guided site visits of the Kilmartin Glen monuments, Rock Art Carvings of Achnabreac Forest Park and the deserted settlements of Arichonan and Kilmory Oib.

Outdoors we explore the natural history, including pond dipping, nature trails and transect, invertebrate and vegetation surveys.

All interactive activities have been developed to meet the experiences and outcomes of the Curriculum for Excellence and can be adapted for Early, First and Second Level.

If you would like to book a workshop, or if you are interested in the Education and Outreach team developing workshops and projects with your class, we would love to hear from you! Contact us at education@kilmartin.org or 01546 510278.
