Sensory Backpacks
We now have 2 backpacks available to support young visitors with additional sensory needs or for those that need different ways of exploring our museum
These are free to borrow and contain a range of items to help support visitors who may need a little extra help to enjoy everything including fidget toys, ear defenders, sensory aids etc to help plan your visit plus an optional soft toy ‘Glen’ of Kilmartin Glen to help guide you around the museum.
Backpacks are available to borrow for the duration of the visit and are available from our reception or you may wish to book one advance.

What’s Inside A Sensory Backpack?
Inside the backpack you will find:-
1 x set of ear defenders to make things quieter
1 x magnifying glass to look up close at small things
1 x wooden fidget toy
2 x small sand timers (in front pocket) used for focus time or time out-rest
1 x plastic spikey ball
3 x colour paddles—look through these to see things in a different colour (front pocket)
2 x sensory pebbles—can you find the patterns around the museum?
1 x squishy frog
1 x mini ooze tube
