Ancient Skills Workshops

New Workshops announced:

We run an exciting programme of Ancient Skills Workshops at Kilmartin Museum, where participants can learn how ancient hunter-gatherers created pottery and wooden utensils and crafted weapons and tools from antler, stone and bone.

Drawing on current and ongoing archaeological research and over a decade of ancient skills practice, Education Team Lead Will Attard guides participants through the crafting process.

Using the same tools and following the techniques of our Mesolithic predecessors, you will learn how these populations survived in a rich but often dangerous world.

All workshops are held at Kilmartin Museum. Most are held in our Learning Centre, but some, such as flint knapping, are held outside in our stretch tent.
