About the author

Dr Sharon Webb MBE, BA(Hons) MPhil PhD FSA Scot has over 20 years’ experience in the Scottish museum, archaeology and heritage sector. She was Director and Curator of Kilmartin Museum from 2003 to 2024. She led the Museum’s £8 million redevelopment project as well as acting as lead researcher and exhibition curator for the award-winning permanent exhibition.  Since 2024, she has been a freelance museum, archaeology and heritage consultant specialising in engaging people through research, interpretation and collections and supporting communities to care for their heritage through collections care, fundraising and project development. In 2016, Sharon was awarded an MBE by the late HRH Queen Elisabeth for services to heritage and archaeology.

‘In the Footsteps of Kings’ was Sharon’s first book and summarised her wealth of knowledge about Mid Argyll’s archaeology and history, accumulated over 23 years of living and working in this special place.
